Extra Baggage

With most airlines, hand baggage is free of charge.

Hand baggage is limited to a weight of 8-10 kg, depending on the airline, and may not exceed 55x35x25 cm.

For a short trip of 4 to 5 days, this is sufficient in most cases.

Think in advance about what you really want or need to bring, including toiletries.

The cost of purchasing a deodorant, gel, or shaving foam at the destination does not outweigh the cost of an extra suitcase.

Let's be honest, is 28 kg of baggage per person really necessary for 4 or 5 days?

If you do want to bring extra baggage, airlines charge significant fees for this.

For a suitcase of 15-20 kg, the cost can easily be € 30,- per one-way trip.

To save costs, you can choose to share an extra suitcase with one or more travellers from your group.

Book an extra suitcase in advance to avoid paying for excess baggage at the airport.

Liquids

Liquids you want to bring in your hand baggage must be in containers of no more than 100ml.

This applies to all forms of liquids such as gel, toothpaste, shaving foam, deodorant, perfume, drinks, sunscreen, and other products with a similar composition.

Medicines and special foods that you need during the flight are not subject to this rule.

All liquids you want to bring in your hand baggage must be packed in a transparent, resealable plastic bag.

This plastic bag must have a maximum capacity of 1 liter and must be shown at airport security checkpoints.
